Blepharoplasty

It is common to encounter aesthetic or functional operations on the eyelids. Blepharoplasty is the most frequently preferred facial aesthetic operation after rhinoplasty. The area around the eyes is the first area where wrinkles occur as the skin structure is very thin.

There will be wrinkles and under eye bags after the age of 30. The fats around the eyes are visible under the skin as the skin around the eyes is very thin. With the operations on the upper and lower eyelids, excess skin are to be removed from the upper eyelid and excess fat tissues that cause under eye bags are to be removed.

Blepharoplasty is a simple operation, so, you can get rid of any unwanted expression on your face with this procedure in which local anesthesia, sedation or general anesthesia is made. The operation for the upper eyelid is a process that takes about 20 minutes; if it is done together with the lower eyelid, the operation is completed in about 1 hour.

There generally will not be any post-operative pain. Even though there might be swelling and bruising, you will completely recover after 1 week.

When planning blepharoplasty, the patient’s face must be observed. The harmony between the upper eyelid and eyebrows and also deep facial lines are not problems that can only be solved by eye contour. It may require some minimally invasive procedures and surgical procedures such as brow lift and face lift.
